18 - Woodward's Building

Woodward's Building, Vancouver BC. The first store was a 3-storey wood frame building constructed in 1903. It was expanded in 1908 with the brick and heavy timber building that stands today. Closed in 1993, it is now the object of a polemic low-income housing reutilization project.

Our site survey was completed in eight (8) hours and four (4) very detailed elevations were produced. One of the results of the precise measurements was the creation of a data base of the façade openings. Although not easily distinguished, there are approximately 360 slightly different window types.
